Stelios Ventas, the Greek hard rock guitarist, singer and songwriter, released his third album some months ago. This new release is called “Badass”, simply and literally, and it is the soundtrack of a music journey. The Athenian musician takes us on a wild ride through place and time, from England and the United States to Greece, from the 60s to our times. It’s a rock n’ roll journey, fascinating, stunning, amazing, a rock n’ roll story, as seen by Ventas, musically narrated in a superb way. The Greek guitar virtuoso is offering us a selection of ten hard rock songs, in the style of AC/DC, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and other hard rock legends. However, these hard rock songs have many other different influences – here you will find blues elements, southern rock elements, even folk rock and heavy metal elements!  “Badass” showcases Ventas’ skills – Ventas plays with technique, feeling and passion, in the context of well-composed and well-structured songs. The album’s music material is the result of Ventas’ inspiration, who works on his influences and adds his personal experience and vision. Apart from the outstanding guitar work, I liked the lyrics of the songs, which smell alcohol and smoke, and tell us dirty rock n’ roll stories from the road. Ventas is singing his songs too, giving an even more personal touch to the album. “Badass” is an ideal record release for hard rock fans, who want to listen to fine, top-class classic rock music. It’s dirty to the bone and we like it!
