Empiric comes back with its new, sophomore album, “The Seven Laws”, and I am so excited to fianlly listen to a nice rock album. The project’s mastermind, JP, has crafted another one, so interesting, elegant and charming rock proposal, which we all shall enjoy. He cooperates with Angra bassist Luis Mariutti, he is assisted by musicians such as Sascha Paeth and Chris Caffery and gives us a solid rock album, which resonates with every rock/metal listener. From the first track to last one, we encounter excellent rock compositions, which sound fresh and cohesive, and satisfy the listener, who wants something rock oriented, modern and inspired. JP’ vocals are characteristic and stick to your brain – after some listens, you will find yourself singing all these beautiful songs and stomping your feet to the ground with all the amazing grooves of “The Seven Laws”. These incredible refrains and melodic hooks are impossible to be denied – “There’s More Power” could be at the top of the charts, “With Your Desires” has this unique, funky rhythm, which will take you by surprise, “Karma” includes huge riffs and “Step Into The Unknown” is a real earworm! I will set the record straight – “The Seven Laws” is one of the best pure rock albums I have listened to the last couple of years! Combining rock melodies with metal riffs, monster grooves with rock sensibilities, Empiric are writing their own chapter in the book of the contemporary rock/metal scene. Come and read this chapter, it is really captivating!
