THE HALO EFFECT – “MARCH OF THE UNHEARD” (2025, NUCLEAR BLAST)

by MythofRock

Swedish melo-death metal giants The Halo Effect, formed by ex-members of In Flames, have delivered their highly anticipated second album, “March of the Unheard“. Following the impressive debut, “Days of the Lost”, the band has once again shown immense potential, exceeding expectations with this release. As a fan of their work, I was eager to see how they would build upon their already strong foundation, and I’m pleased to say that they have done so spectacularly. One standout element of the album is Mikael Stanne’s vocals, which I first encountered during a Dark Tranquillity live performance in Thessaloniki, Greece. His vocal performance is nothing short of mesmerizing—powerful yet emotional, with remarkable versatility that leaves a lasting impression. Stanne’s ability to convey deep emotion through his voice enhances the music and elevates the overall listening experience. “March of the Unheard” maintains the band’s signature fast-paced, energetic sound. The album is filled with fiery riffs and high-octane energy, ensuring that each track is dynamic and catchy. Overall, “March of the Unheard” is a thrilling follow-up that not only meets but surpasses expectations. With its infectious riffs and emotional intensity, it is a must-listen for fans of melodic death metal.
