Six years after the release of her Spineless debut album “Speaking of Chaos and Relative Peace”, Chrysa Tsaltampasi returns with her highly anticipated second full-length album, “Dysphonia”.
The mastermind behind the project known as Spineless, Tsaltampasi is not only a vocalist and songwriter, but also a seasoned vocal coach with a particular focus on extreme metal techniques. Her musical journey has seen her collaborate with a wide range of bands and artists across genres, both as a permanent member (with acts like National Pornografik, Bella Fuzz, Biotech, Travel Mind Syndrome, Anal Veritas, Low Texture, among others) and as a session or special guest vocalist (including Alkaloid, Calyces, Beyond Perception, Afformance, Scar of the Sun, Mother Turtle, etc.). Her work even extends beyond Greek borders, with contributions to the soundtrack of Netflix’s series “1899” alongside Sofia Sarri and Ben Frost, as well as to soundtracks for shows like “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Secret Circle”, “Star-Crossed” and “Delirium” in collaboration with Dutch DJ Tim Besamusca.
The time between Spineless’ debut and “Dysphonia” was marked by constant artistic exploration, collaborations and a relentless pursuit of sonic mastery. This period of creative gestation culminated in ten new tracks that emerged almost organically, each one a chapter in a new sonic narrative. “Dysphonia” is a complete musical work that combines thoughtful storytelling, technical precision, and an experimental yet refined aesthetic. The album promises to resonate deeply with every listener who engages with it.
Released on November 1st via Submersion Records, “Dysphonia” is now available. The album offers a mix of intensity, depth and introspection, exemplified by its lead singles, “Disease” and “Where am I?”, which dropped in October.
Greek fans will have the opportunity to experience the entire album live on Thursday, November 14th, when Tsaltampasi will present “Dysphonia” in its entirety. The event promises an immersive audiovisual experience that is set to captivate the audience.
Setting the stage for Spineless’ album presentation is the ethereal soundscape creator Emi Path. Known for her atmospheric and experimental compositions, Emi Path combines ambient, dark and minimalist tones to craft immersive sonic experiences. Her work explores the boundaries of form, often deconstructing traditional structures to remind listeners of the profound impact of their absence.
Path’s live performances are known for their captivating introspection, creating intimate sonic environments that draw audiences into her world. This makes her an ideal opening act for the “Dysphonia” album presentation, setting a tone of emotional exploration that aligns perfectly with the thematic depth of Spineless’ new release.
The event on November 14th promises to be an unforgettable night for fans of experimental music and extreme vocal artistry. It will showcase the full depth of Tsaltampasi’s creative evolution through “Dysphonia”, after a complementary sonic experience through Emi Path’s performance.
This is a night that promises to challenge and inspire!
