Extreme metal supergroup SINSAENUM has unveiled a second preview of its forthcoming studio album, “In Devastation”, with the release of the powerful new single “Last Goodbye”, accompanied by an intense official video.
“In Devastation” marks SINSAENUM’s first new release since the heartbreaking loss of legendary drummer Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT, MURDERDOLLS) in 2021. Both the singles and the album stand as a cathartic tribute to Jordison, as well as to the late father of guitarist and founding member Frédéric Leclercq (KREATOR, ex-DRAGONFORCE). Their passing deeply influenced the emotional core and creative vision of the project.
“Last Goodbye,” along with several other tracks on the album, highlights SINSAENUM’s evolution both musically and emotionally—shifting from raw, unrelenting aggression to moments of haunting introspection. Guitarist and founder Frédéric Leclercq calls “Last Goodbye” the band’s “most personal” song to date.
“I was devastated, which is why the album bears that name,” Leclercq shares. “But we knew we had to move forward. This record is our tribute to my father, to Joey, and to anyone who has ever had to summon strength in their darkest hours.”
“In Devastation” is a 10-track onslaught of blackened death metal, marked by SINSAENUM’s trademark melodic ferocity and experimental spirit. Produced and mixed by renowned German audio engineer Lasse Lammert, the album pushes the band into uncharted sonic territory—incorporating progressive intricacies, clean vocals, and even cello—while remaining true to their brutal essence.
Reuniting for this powerful new chapter alongside Frédéric Leclercq are longtime members Attila Csihar (MAYHEM), Sean Zatorsky (DÅÅTH), Stéphane Buriez (LOUDBLAST), and Heimoth (SETH). Taking over drum duties is Andre Joyzi—formerly Joey Jordison’s drum tech and a trusted part of SINSAENUM’s touring family. Joyzi was selected not just for his exceptional talent, but for the deep emotional bond he shares with the band’s history and his heartfelt commitment to honoring Jordison’s enduring legacy.
Building on the critical success of “Echoes Of The Tortured” (2016) and “Repulsion For Humanity” (2018), “In Devastation” firmly establishes SINSAENUM as a driving force in modern metal—a band shaped by loss, yet propelled by an unyielding spirit of defiance.
