UK electronic trio Scissorgun release a new single. It’s titled “Bad As Bingo” and it’s a strange and playful track, the kind of song that steals your attention. There’s something instantly gripping about the groove: a loose, go-go-style rhythm, pulsing bass and a sense of movement that never quite settles. The music feels alive, like it’s shifting and mutating in real time. It’s electronic, but not clean or polished – more like a machine breathing, glitching and kicking forward with purpose. The track is built from improvisation and you can really hear that. Nothing sounds forced. It’s like the ideas appeared naturally, and the band simply followed them. The bass line grinds and loops with a raw energy, while bursts of noise, samples and weird background textures creep in and fade out. There’s even the sound of barking dogs, adding a surreal twist that shouldn’t make sense, yet somehow fits perfectly. Alan Hempsall’s vocals feel half-spoken, half-sung, slipping between commentary, memory, and emotional release. The lyrics come across as snapshots from a situation gone wrong – something once joyful that has now become twisted or fractured. There’s sadness in his tone, but also humor and a touch of defiance. It’s emotional without being dramatic … What makes “Bad As Bingo” stand out is its personality. It’s not trying to sound like anyone else or follow any current trend. It feels like music made for the moment of creation itself. It invites you to move, think and drift a little. Weird, noisy, catchy, thoughtful — Scissorgun offer a track that’s both experimental and surprisingly fun. It’s a dance for the restless minds.
