LOWSUNDAY – “SOMEONE TO TALK TO” (2026, PROJEKT)

by MythofRock

Lowsunday return with “Someone to Talk to”, a dark and atmospheric track that perfectly captures the feeling of loneliness and misplaced trust. Coming from their new “Low Sunday Ghost Machine – Black EP”, the song shows why this band still has something special to offer after all these years. The first thing that grabs you is the atmosphere and the melodic rhythm. “Someone To Talk To” feels dreamy and cold at the same time, with shimmering guitars, subtle synths and a hooky rhythm creating an infectious backdrop. There is a strong shoegaze feeling here, but the darkwave side of Lowsunday is equally important. Everything sounds controlled and spacious, allowing the emotional weight of the song to slowly build. The lyrics deal with that painful moment when loneliness makes us ignore the obvious signs that someone cannot be trusted. It is about needing somebody so badly that we continue believing in them, even when they have already broken that trust. This gives the song a very human and relatable feeling. I also like the contrast between the dark subject and the almost peaceful mood of the music. “Someone To Talk To” never becomes overly dramatic. Instead, it creates a strange sense of calm, like being alone at night with your thoughts. The guitars add just enough tension and the vocals keep everything intimate. Lowsunday have clearly returned with a strong sense of purpose. “Someone To Talk To” is a beautiful, melancholic track that grows stronger with every listen. A fine example of how darkness can also sound comforting.
