STICK TO YOUR GUNS, DEEZ NUTS, SEASONS AC – ARCH CLUB, ATHENS, GREECE – 29/04/2024

by MythofRock

What a better way to start the week, or should I say, what a better way to relax all the tension of a working day, than a hardcore punk live? Stick to your Guns where here again for their annual meeting with their Greek audience. It’s definitely one of those bands that keep their promises and stay consistent and that seems to be appreciated.

First band on stage for the night was Seasons AC. They’re well known to the Greek audience as they count ten years on this scene. Their energy heat up the place, which quickly started to get more and more crowded as the time was passing by. Circle pits started quite early and *spoiler alert* they didn’t stop until the very end. The band filled the stage and Vagg with his iconic jumps stirred up the crowd. I personally loved their “Sabotage” (Beastie Boys) cover and their very own “Black” from the “Salute & Longlive” album.

Then it came the time for the Australian Deez Nuts to come up on stage and people couldn’t hold up their excitement. They gave us an absolutely stunning performance, with everyone singing and jumping along, spreading their energy all over the place. The crowd was asking for more and Deez Nuts took that more literally than everyone thought. Their setlist was full with “Stay True”, “Band of Brothers”, “Face This On My Own” and “DTDFL4EVA” standing out. They left no one unhappy including older and younger fans.

Even if it was almost midnight of a Monday night and after two strong performances, we picked our pieces and it seemed like we all had more to give.  Finally after a big delay Stick to Your Guns came up on stage to destroy what was left. Circle pits and stage dives didn’t stop even for a minute. It’s quite hard to mention a highlight of their performance, because the energy from both on and off stage was unmatched. “Nothing You Can Do to Me” and “Against Them All” was the closure we all needed and of course with a promise to renew our meeting again soon.
