One of the best power metal albums of 2021 comes from Mexico, and Split Heaven. The quartet is releasing its new album, “Electric Spell”, and all fans of true heavy/power metal should be prepared for a heavy metal feast. Split Heaven plays its metal music with hellish passion and ferocious power, they have the guts, the balls to create relentless, reckless heavy metal and I am sure that every fan of heavy/power metal will appreciate it. Listening to “Electric Spell” is a journey back to the 80s and the 90s, it’s a unique experience that brings many classic bands to the mind, for example Helstar, Agent Steel, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Helloween, etc. All four members of the band know how to play, they are well rehearsed and they perform like there is no tomorrow – I liked very much the insane vocals of Jason Conde-Houston, the razor-sharp guitars of Armand “Hank” Ramos and Carlo Hernández, the super-tight rhythm section and of course, Achim Koehler’s work on the album mixing/mastering. “Sacred Fire”, “Soul Possessor”, “Back From Purgatory”, “Let’s Fight” and “Electric Spell” are just some of the album’s highlights – there is no filler, only inspired, crazy fuckin’ heavy metal, which will melt your brain! In a nutshell, Split Heaven’s thunderous, hot steel can be the sanctuary of the hungry, disappointed metal fans, who wants to listen to good, graceful and soulful music. The Mexicans deliver their fifth album and the metal cosmos can celebrate this magic moment.
