Seven years after the release of their “Wings of Fire” EP, Sirius finally unveil their debut album, “A Quest for Life”, through WormHoleDeath. While it may have taken longer than expected for the band to deliver their first full-length record, some things are worth the wait—and this is certainly one of them. “A Quest for Life” stands out as a strong addition to the recent wave of high-quality releases from the Greek power metal scene. Dimitris Napas (guitars, vocals) and his bandmates have crafted an album that is sure to bring a smile to the face of every metal enthusiast. This is a solid metal record, packed with creative ideas, soaring melodies, crushing riffs, thunderous drums, and commanding vocals. While Sirius aren’t reinventing the genre, they deliver top-tier power metal that will leave listeners thoroughly satisfied. What do you want from a power metal band? Killer riffs? You’ll find them here. Catchy melodies? They’re present as well. Pulsating rhythms? Absolutely. “A Quest for Life” is a mature, carefully thought-out, and expertly executed record that not only pays homage to the genre but also gives it a refreshing touch. The contributions of Tim “Ripper” Owens and Derek Sherinian further elevate the album, while the production work at Made in Hell Studio is near-perfect— a slightly louder sound would have been welcome. From the opening track “Unbound the Scream” to the closing “Among the Heavens”, all eight songs hit hard, with no filler in sight. This is a captivating power metal album, bridging influences from both sides of the Atlantic and leaving a lasting impression. Sirius have delivered an epic offering—are you ready to join the celebration? I doubt anyone will want to miss out!
