American dark metal veterans Novembers Doom have released a new single “Major Arcana”, the lead single and title-track of their forthcoming twelfth studio album.
According to vocalist Paul Kuhr, the new track “represents significant growth for us, exploring new ideas and taking ourselves out of our comfort zone – both musically and thematically. Yet we are still staying true to who we are and the artistic legacy that we have created for so many years now.”
“Major Arcana” marks Novembers Doom’s first studio release since 2019’s Nephilim Grove and is “inspired by tarot and divination, a theme reflected in both the lyrics and album artwork.” Major Arcana was produced by Chris Djuricic at Belle Sound Studio and mixed and mastered by legendary Swedish producer Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale). In addition to the new release, Novembers Doom will reissue their 2005 cult album The Pale Haunt Departure on October 3 as a deluxe 20th Anniversary Edition. For the first time ever, the album will be available on vinyl and as a lavish artbook edition, featuring rare photos, new liner notes, and seven exclusive bonus tracks.
