MAGIC DE SPELL – KYTTARO, ATHENS, GREECE – 29/03/2024

by MythofRock

In the centre of Athens, at Εpirou Street and the legendary venue of Kyttaro, history was made as Magic De Spell, one of the eminent figures of the Greek rock scene, graced the stage. With so many classic songs in their repertoire and a reputation for innovation, Magic De Spell had set their rendezvous with us. They were punctual and of course, the legendary band did not disappoint.

The stage was ready for Magic De Spell, who emerged, accompanied by the talented Iakovos Paterakis. The journey began and the ethereal notes of Paterakis’ lyre intertwined with the band’s instrumental prowess, casting a spell over the audience. As the first chords of “Emena Oi Filoi Mou” reverberated through the venue, it was obvious that this was a celebration of Greek rock at its finest!

Led by the charismatic Michalis Skarakis, Magic De Spell captivated the audience with their impassioned performance. Each note was infused in rich emotion, each lyric was a reason for us to smile, to cry, to sing. The classic anthems sounded so wonderful, weaving a tapestry of nostalgia and exhilaration. Throughout the night, collaborations with Paterakis and members of Koinoi Thnitoi (Mitsos Fou and Antonis Meimaris) added a dynamic flair to the proceedings. Moments of improvisation and synergy electrified the stage, taking our breath away. Magic De Spell, in their element, gave their all, pouring heart and soul into each performance. We all had a great time, and I personally am now a fan of this iconic band! It was a party of Magic De Spell, who played for their fans, both old and new ones – everybody was singing the lyrics, yelling and shaking!

And so, as we journeyed back home, hearts full and spirits soaring, we knew that this was a night we would never forget. A night of genuine beauty and of unbridled passion. A night with Magic De Spell.
