Oxford indie pop outfit Jody And The Jerms is hitting us again with a new single, titled “Winter Heart”, which features acclaimed violinist Erica Nockalls of The Wonderstuff. What do we have here? But, of course, the infectious melodies of Jody and The Jerms, for which the band is known for – the vocal lines, both in the playful verses and the uplifting chorus, stick to your brain, there’s no way you will get away from this band’s brilliant musicianship! Then, the song has the amazing violin of Erica, which is also a protagonist and elevates the song’s artistic level. The sound of the violin is at the same time cheery and melancholic, moods that we always find apparent in the songs of the band. In “Winter Heart” we hear the wonderful, characteristic voice of Jody, which complements the song’s qualities. All in all, we have a beautiful song, which will keep us good company all day and all night – we have to trust this group, which knows how to make us feel happy. Lyrical wise, the songs refers to themes of love, loneliness and hope, lyrics, which add to the bittersweet taste of the song. So, Jody and The Jerms continue to write and play emotional, evocative (indie) pop music, which blows the listener away! It’s a small hit by a band, which is destined to make our day prettier! We are looking forward to Jody and The Jerms’ new full-length album, as this single is just an appetizer!
