After nine years, Europe make their long-awaited return with “Come This Madness”, their twelfth studio album and perhaps their strongest and most uncompromising statement so far. “Come This Madness” is scheduled for release on September 25 through Silver Lining Music / Hell & Back Recordings.
Europe have experienced it all—yet they have always kept moving forward, never standing still. Once again, they rise, continuing to challenge expectations while evolving, adapting, and pushing ahead without compromise.
Through tracks like “One On One”, “The Cult Of Ignorance”, and the title song “Come This Madness”, the band pours tension, honesty, and raw energy into an album that feels both deeply personal and strikingly relevant on a global scale.
The first single, “One On One”, arrives today (28 April) as a powerful reintroduction to Europe, showing a band that has never sounded more sharp and determined. Driven by a strong bass riff and lifted by soaring melodies, the song combines EUROPE’s classic signature sound with a fresh, modern intensity. Beginning with an orchestral-style intro before shifting into a heavy, riff-centered core, it grows into a massive, arena-ready hard rock anthem. Written during a period of global stillness and shaped over several years, the track reflects both persistence and growth—a song the band refused to abandon, eventually turning it into one of the defining moments of “Come This Madness”.
“‘One On One’ is definitely one of my favorite tracks from the album,” says EUROPE’s founding member and frontman Joey Tempest. “The power and feel is fresh, but some of the melodies bring me back to where it all began. Lyrically, it’s perhaps not filled with as much escapism as early EUROPE. These lyrics automatically ended up being more of a reflection of the times we live in today. Ever since ‘One On One’ was just a demo, we’ve stayed with it… never gave up on it, and elevated it to a place where it belongs: a high-flying, classic hard rock track.”
The new single is accompanied by a striking and unconventional music video, opening a bold new visual chapter for Europe. Set within a stark, cinematic atmosphere, the video focuses on a single character—wounded, broken, and emotionally vulnerable—brought vividly to life through a powerful and deeply human performance by acclaimed actor Peter Stormare, known for films such as “Fargo”, “The Big Lebowski”, “Minority Report”, “8MM”, and “Armageddon”.
