To be honest, before “Camino de Brujos”, I didn’t know much about Cultura Tres and its discography. Of course I knew that they come from Venezuela and that Sepultura’s bassist, Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr., is a member of the band since 2019. ”Camino de Brujos” is the new album of Cultura Tres and I must say that it is a great surprise for me. We are dealing with a manic thrash metal album, a full throttle attack, a bulldozer at maximum speed heading against us. The whole album is at the style of Sepultura’s ”Chaos AD” and ”Roots”, you almost think that Max Cavalera is singing and playing! The riffs are menacing, the groove is uncontrollable, the overall production sounds like an unbreakable wall. The fiery guitars, together with the pounding drums, the loud bass and the spitted vocals will make you want to head bang and jump up and down like a lunatic. ”Camino de Brujos” is a slap on your face, a punch under the belt, a straight forward, in your face thrash metal album, which will take you on a ride to the late 80s-early 90s. Yet, you will find here many other elements: there is a sludge metal influence here, as well as a classic rock flavour! And if you combine all these sonic dimensions with the sociopolitical lyrics, you get the eccentric character of Cultura Tres, who bomb you with their dynamic, powerful and passionate musical point of view. I am excited and so enthused with this fantastic new album, I am going to explore the band’s back catalogue without delay! Cultura Tres release one of the best thrash metal albums of the year – you have to listen to this thunderous new work!
