Starting a new chapter in their post-“Impulse to Soar” era, the heavy prog metallers Calyces are ready to share their highly anticipated second album, titled “Fleshy Waves of Probability”, with their audience. The lead singles “Flowing Through Storm” and “Swirling Towards the Light” have already been released, while the third single, “Wastelands”, is set to drop in early March. The full album will be available on March 21.
With a new member (but a familiar face) behind the drums and the chemistry between the four reaching its highest peak yet, their new compositions bring some of the freshest sounds to emerge from Greece in recent years. A distinctly different prog aesthetic is stirred and simmering in their latest work, infused with sludge and grunge elements here and there, all in perfect balance.
As part of their European tour, Calyces have chosen the historic Eightball (Pindou 1, Ladadika, Thessaloniki) to kick off the journey and give the eight tracks of “Fleshy Waves of Probability” their baptism by fire, joined by Thessaloniki-based Oria. Similarly, after nearly two weeks of daily gigs across the Balkans, they return to the underground venue that holds a special place in our hearts, An Club (Solomou 13, Athens), to electrify the Athenian audience alongside Their Methlab.
