German symphonic metal outfit Xandria will unveil their new studio album, “Eclipse”, on August 7, 2026 through Napalm Records. To promote the upcoming release, the band has shared the official music video for the album’s second single, “Colours”, which is available below.
“Colours” stands out as another remarkable entry in XANDRIA’s three-decade-long career. The track places a massive classical choir at the forefront, blending sweeping cinematic orchestrations with powerful modern metal riffs. At the same time, vocalist Ambre Vourvahis delivers a stunning performance, moving seamlessly between a variety of vocal styles with both confidence and precision — a talent rarely encountered within symphonic metal and beyond. From aggressive harsh vocals to soaring operatic passages, “Colours” achieves a sound that is both majestic and contemporary, offering a compelling example of modern symphonic metal at its finest.

The forthcoming full-length album comprises eleven tracks and stands as the most varied collection of songs in the band’s catalog to date. Each composition possesses a distinct character and takes listeners on its own unique journey, while still contributing to a cohesive overall atmosphere. Traditional, ’80s-inspired metal riffs are combined with heavy, modern down-tuned guitars, while cinematic orchestral arrangements intertwine with Celtic folk influences. Elsewhere, dark electronic textures merge with more intimate rock passages, and one guitar solo even draws greater inspiration from Pink Floyd than from conventional metal traditions.
The album’s first single, “The Shannon’s Home”, blends ethereal melodies, cinematic grandeur, and folk-inspired elements, all carried by the powerful and expressive vocals of Ambre Vourvahis. Balancing intimate moments with sweeping epic arrangements, the track further demonstrates why Xandria continues to be regarded as one of the premier forces in the symphonic metal scene.
