Hard-rock veterans TYKETTO are set to return with their sixth studio album, “Closer To The Sun”, due out on March 20, 2026. The current lineup — Danny Vaughn (vocals), Harry Scott Elliott (guitar), Ged Rylands (keyboards), Chris Childs (bass) and Johnny Dee (drums) — will release the new LP through British rock powerhouse Silver Lining Music. The label is well known for its heavyweight roster, counting artists such as EUROPE, URIAH HEEP, SAXON, Michael Monroe, SOEN and DIAMOND HEAD among its ranks.
A powerful sense of optimism and momentum runs through the album’s more arena-friendly moments, as TYKETTO reconnect with their classic arena rock DNA. This approach shines brightest on the second single, “We Rise”, whose official music video is available to watch below.
“In the spirit of ‘Don’t Come Easy’, we set out to create a couple of real arena rock anthems and ‘We Rise’ is definitely one of those,” comments Vaughn. “It also marked the first real collaborative effort within the band for this album. Harry brought in the guitar riff and the chorus. Chris and I fleshed out the arrangement and the lyrics and before you know it, magic happened! It’s a simple message; when you get knocked down, keep getting back up!”.
When the album’s first video, “Higher Than High”, was released last November, it was described in a press release as “a burst of swing and swagger that perfectly captures TYKETTO’s deep appreciation for the emancipation that music can bring.”
“‘Higher Than High’ is, in my estimation, classic TYKETTO, where difficulties in life are seen and named but hope and, more importantly, music, is the thing that gets us through,” commented Vaughn. “It’s the first single from our new album which we think is going to be a real favorite with the fans. The song and the album say ‘play me loudly and take me for a drive.'”
The official video for “Higher Than High” was filmed by Paul Hollingsworth at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, with direction and editing handled by Scott Wardell.
Across “Closer To The Sun”, TYKETTO connects with the listener through stories of real-life love, loss and simple pleasures. From the title track’s triumphant, anthemic celebration of love’s strength, to the hard-hitting grit of “Hit Me Where It Hurts”, designed to raise fists and quicken pulses, and on to the emotional power ballad “The Picture”, the band sounds confident and fully in its element.
TYKETTO once again walks the same classic hard rock path carved by bands like WHITESNAKE and AEROSMITH, while still sounding vibrant and exciting — especially for listeners discovering them for the first time.
Closer To The Sun was recorded at several studios across Europe, among them Flip Flop Studios and the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales.
To support the album’s release, TYKETTO has already confirmed a run of live dates for 2026, starting with an appearance at Planet Rock’s Winter’s End festival in Porthcawl, Wales, followed by a full U.K. tour scheduled for the spring.
