Hard rock outfit TYKETTO is gearing up to release its sixth studio album, “Closer To The Sun”, on March 20, 2026. The lineup — Danny Vaughn on vocals, Harry Scott Elliott on guitar, Ged Rylands on keyboards, Chris Childs on bass and Johnny Dee on drums — will put out the new record through Silver Lining Music, the British label that also works with EUROPE, URIAH HEEP, SAXON, Michael Monroe, SOEN, DIAMOND HEAD and more.
The lead single and video from “Closer To The Sun”, “Higher Than High”, bursts with energy and attitude, showcasing TYKETTO’s love for the sense of freedom that music can offer. That feeling comes through loud and clear as vocalist and founding member Danny Vaughn delivers his lines with full force: “In the space you can learn to heal / There is music that helps you feel / Higher than high”.
“‘Higher Than High’ is, in my estimation, classic TYKETTO, where difficulties in life are seen and named but hope and, more importantly, music, is the thing that gets us through,” comments Vaughn. “It’s the first single from our new album which we think is going to be a real favorite with the fans. The song and the album say ‘play me loudly and take me for a drive.'”
The video for “Higher Than High” was shot by Paul Hollingsworth at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, U.K., with Scott Wardell handling directing and editing duties.
On “Closer To The Sun”, TYKETTO dives into real-life stories of love, heartbreak and joy. The title track delivers a big, triumphant ode to the strength of love, while “Hit Me Where It Hurts” fires off gritty, high-energy rock built to lift fists and pulse rates. “The Picture” leans into emotional, melodic ballad territory. Throughout the album, the band stands firmly in the same hard rock tradition as WHITESNAKE and AEROSMITH, yet still manages to sound fresh and inviting to new listeners.
Closer To The Sun was tracked in several studios across Europe, among them Flip Flop Studios and the historic Rockfield Studios in Wales.
