The track feels like a slow walk-through heavy fog, where every step carries memory, reflection and a quiet, burning intensity. It’s psychedelic rock, doom-gazed and soaked in fuzz, yet it never loses its emotional clarity. The band’s mood has always leaned toward the shadowy side of things, but here the darkness feels very human—worn-in, lived-through and not just for dramatic effect. The guitars swell like distant waves, gritty and saturated, while the vocals come through like a weary narrator telling their story at the end of a long night. There is no need for theatrics here. The song breathes slowly, allowing its sadness and weight to unfold naturally. You can hear patience in the playing, restraint in the arrangement, and a raw sincerity in the performance. What stands out most is how grounded the track feels. It doesn’t drift into space for the sake of trippiness—every sound serves the emotional tone. The band manages to be both dreamy, otherworldly and heavy at the same time, somewhere between The Jesus & Mary Chain’s smoky melancholy and the slow-burning power of Electric Wizard or Spacemen 3. “Under Dark Skies” is a statement of where the band is emotionally and artistically right now.
