THE PINEAPPLE THIEF: SHARE NEW ALBUM DETAILS AND VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE

by MythofRock

Progressive art rock outfit THE PINEAPPLE THIEF will unveil their new studio album, “Far And Wide”, on October 9, 2026, via InsideOut Music. On their latest effort, the band embrace a more distinctly rock-oriented sound than ever before, while retaining the progressive ambition and captivating atmospheres that have long defined their music. Still deeply connected to the turbulent world around them, THE PINEAPPLE THIEF now draw on a decade of experience and seven albums since drummer Gavin Harrison joined the lineup, combining years of touring, countless road miles, and performances on increasingly larger stages. Newly signed to InsideOut Music, the band channel that chemistry and experience into what promises to be a defining new chapter.

The album announcement arrives alongside the release of the hard-hitting new single “New World Order”, accompanied by a striking music video created by longtime collaborator George Laycock of Black Tide Productions.

With “Far And Wide”, THE PINEAPPLE THIEF showcase a band capable of blending dreamlike complexity with a more direct and forceful approach, transforming their atmospheric soundscapes into powerful, incisive songs.

“We realized, for instance, that you don’t need more than two guitar parts at any one time,” THE PINEAPPLE THIEF frontman/founder Bruce Soord says. “You know, ‘why have we got four or five guitars? Why have we got six-part harmonies when there’s only three of us singing?’ We deliberately created those constraints, because we thought, ‘we’re a rock band, there’s five of us on stage, this is what we should be about in the studio.'”

“You do start to imagine what a song would look like on a stage, and sometimes that does influence the arrangement,” Harrison adds. “Like, ‘this would be amazing live when we do this, if this section just went into this other thing’, and you can picture it with the lights and the atmosphere on stage.”

It’s an approach that perfectly complements the powerful and immersive track listing of “Far And Wide”. The album offers vivid snapshots of a society in turmoil, explores the importance of moral courage in the face of adversity, and delves into personal loss and the lasting impact it can leave behind. These themes build upon the foundations established by 2024’s “It Leads To This”, where THE PINEAPPLE THIEF reflected on the world and the challenges awaiting the next generation.

“Far And Wide” will be available in a wide range of formats, including a limited 2CD and Blu-ray artbook edition featuring the bonus track “Daylight”, a second disc containing instrumental versions, and a Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD 5.1 Surround Sound, and 24/48 stereo mixes. The album will also be released as a special-edition CD digipak, a gatefold LP available in multiple color variants, and digitally in both stereo and Dolby Atmos formats. All editions feature the striking artwork depicting an abstract sculpture by the late Michael Schoenholtz, the father of Harrison’s longtime partner, Hannah.
