Without knowing what to expect, I attended the Gagarin 205 Live Club in Athens, Greece, a few days ago and I caught a perfect spot at the balcony in order to enjoy The Hooters! It was the first time I was about to see them, as actually it was the first time that the band chose to include Greece at a tour of theirs!

It was their 45th anniversary tour, so our expectations were huge!! The Hooters entered, almost … ran to the stage at the scheduled time, and they couldn’t wait to start performing. Their energy was good and the vibes of the band super-positive!
They played more than two hours, giving us an unforgettable experience that we will always remember, of course they performed all their hit songs, like “All You Zombies”, “Boys Will Be Boys” and “Johnny B”, but they also performed songs they had written for other artists, like “One of Us”, firstly sang by Joan Osbourne and “Time After Time”, firstly sang by Cyndi Lauper, with which they symbolically chose to end this intense night! They also performed brilliantly the Beatles song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”, the great Don Henley song “The Boys of Summer” and their new song, “Pendulum” from their 2023 album “Rocking & Swing”.
I really feel bad for all those who didn’t attend this gig. I found myself dancing even from the first five minutes, and I never stopped. All of us, who were lucky enough to see them for the very first time, could tell that it was indeed a very special night and that the band gave all they had to the audience. The Hooters proved to be a great band, not just because of all their hit songs, but because they love making music, they love performing live – period!
Yes, The Hooters were more than alive, they were alive and KICKING!!
