After three studio albums and one live album, Symphonity return with a new EP, “Beyond Olympus”, which includes a brand-new track (“Out and About”) along with five live recordings captured in Athens during their tour as the support act for Tarja Turunen and Marco Hietala. “Out and About” is a well-crafted and inspired composition in the band’s familiar symphonic power metal style. Majestic, epic and full of emotion, the new track will undoubtedly please fans of the genre. Built on strong ideas and flawless arrangements, it captivates with the uplifting mood that runs through it, while its abundance of musical themes hints at a more progressive edge. Symphonity are clearly in excellent form, and if “Out and About” is just a taste of their next album, then we might be looking at something truly remarkable. As for the live tracks, they highlight Symphonity’s impeccable performance on stage. Not only do they reproduce their studio material with precision, but they also show great chemistry, deliver with passion and energy, and maintain fantastic interaction with the crowd. These five live songs are genuinely enjoyable, boasting powerful sound and making “Beyond Olympus” a must-have for every Symphonity fan. Overall, this new EP is a very engaging release that makes the wait for the band’s next album much easier—an album that, judging by this preview, promises to be excellent. Symphonity loudly declare that they are here and thriving, offering a wonderful gift to their followers. In the end, there is hope on the horizon for European power metal!
