“Narco Polo” is the latest single of Sun Atoms, off their newly released album, “Everything Forever”. Sun Atoms hails from Portland and is a difficult to describe act, since they combine elements from indie rock, indie pop and psychedelia. Yet, “Narco Polo”, featuring Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse, stands out from the rest of today’s music, due to its both narcotic and straightforward sound. If you are into indie pop/rock but you like psychedelic pop/rock at the same time, then Sun Atoms have done something exactly for you! It’s like The Dandy Warhols on acid, like a dance song, which went really bad. Each time I listen to this song I feel l get hypnotized … it’s the driving beat, the crawling rhythm section and the psychotic vocals to blame for this weird song, which will drive you crazy! “Narco Polo” isn’t a song for everybody, as it demands patience and open ears. Give this single some spins and you will soon get dizzy and feel everything move around you! “Narco Polo” is a great exploration for the bold ones, a song for the lovers of good (and strange) music. It is also accompanied by a lunatic music video – watch this clip and just freak out, no bullshit. Sun Atoms push the boundaries of their own deviant genre and invite us to their mad world. This is just a small appetizer; we must be ready for an incredible long player!
