We recently talked about Sun Atoms’ “Narco Polo”… “Narco Polo” is a great exploration for the bold ones, a song for the lovers of good (and strange) music. Now it’s time for Sun Atoms (feat. Isaac Brock) to unveil two remixes of the track in collaboration with Peter G. Holmström and June Kang. The result is “Narco Polo (NRC RMX)” and “Narco Polo (RemiX JunN)”, two reinterpretations that pick up exactly where the original composition left off. So, what do we have here? Simply put, two artistically remarkable remixes that push the already psychedelic song into even more eccentric, hypnotic, and mind-bending territory. Peter G. Holmström and June Kang demonstrate just how fearless and forward-thinking they are, taking an already powerful track and stretching it to its absolute limits. They throw labels and genre classifications out the window, venture into uncharted sonic landscapes, and through inventive use of keyboards, effects, and electronic textures, transform this already unusual piece into something even more immersive and mesmerizing. Prepare yourselves for two wonderfully odd remixes that stand at the crossroads of electronica, industrial, and indie rock. Sun Atoms and their collaborators clearly thrive on pushing musical boundaries and never allowing themselves to stand still creatively. Both remixes are fascinating in their own right and will undoubtedly appeal to Sun Atoms fans. However, if listening to the original track already required an open mind, these remixes demand an exceptional level of adventurousness. Sun Atoms, Peter G. Holmström, and June Kang are creating art that moves forward rather than looking back. Those willing to embrace the journey are more than welcome.
