SOUP: NEW ALBUM OUT ON OCTOBER 13TH

by MythofRock

Soup will release their new album “Paint a Life” via Audioknot Records on October 13, 2025. The three singles from the album are already out — check the links below for a first taste of the record.

About the Album
Musically, it brews various branches of rock (grunge, alternative, indie, punk) while blending in influences from other genres at different points (funk, prog, reggae). All this is brought to life by the energy of the three-piece band in an album of nine distinct tracks, written with one foot in the Netherlands (Audioknot Records) and the other in Greece, and mastered at the legendary Metropolis Studios (Queen, The Rolling Stones, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters).

Lyrically, it’s a personal quest to filter through the accelerating social instability (see the dog in the eyes…) and deliver a message of unity and love through strong personal relationships.

Bio
**Σούπ** (pronounced /soo͞p/) is a monster of a three-piece band, serving up their own mix of eclectic rock infused with punk, funk, reggae and everything else reflecting the influences they have collected along their 16-year journey.
And what a journey it’s been: the band was first cooked up by founding members Nikos (guitar &vocals) and Dionisis (drums) back in 2008 in the city of Kozani, Greece. Hailing out of a bare bones home studio, sizzling hot thanks to the boiler room next door, those sessions were the catalyst to fuse their melodic chords, raw rhythms, and improvised jams into three powerful tracks that were recorded as their first demo at Ghost Studio in Ptolemaida. After adding another guitarist in the mix, the band took their show on the road hitting the local festivals scene. After a few lineup changes and the addition of bassist Lazaros, σούπ took it to the next level with more original compositions and live shows, building a loyal fanbase that screamed for more at every gig.
The hiatus of Dionisis for a break in Spain marked the start of a long period of changes for the band, cycling through drummers and guitarists, exploring a more diverse sound and infusing their compositions with the genre-defying elements heard in their tracks today. But with members moving off to the Netherlands and Germany, σούπfaced a long-distance relationship. Life hit around the same time, with the band members navigating through career obligations outside music, fatherhood, the pandemic, a long-delayed PhD defense, you name it. However, when Dionisis came back to complete the current three-piece lineup with Nikos and Lazaros, things came full circleand it was time for the band to take on a new challenge: capturing their original tunes on wax for the first time.
Throw in the picture Yorgos (aka Jargusin Dub), a producer with his roots in dub reggae & electronic music, and things got really interesting. A significant part of the record’s sound was shaped at AudioknotRecords HQ in Delft, NL, where band and producer spent countless days and nights of recording, mixing and production to seamlessly blend their diverse influences with their rock attitude and sound. The album was finally completed in 2024 and mastered at Metropolis Studios, UK. AudioknotRecords is proud to announce the release σούπ’s 9-track debut album, hot off the press in all it’s glorious weirdness and here to stretch your rock sensibilities and musical boundaries. Listen loud, tell your friends: σούπ is here to stay.
