ROBIN TAYLOR ZANDER: ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM

by MythofRock

Robin Taylor Zander — touring member of CHEAP TRICK and son of the band’s iconic frontman Robin Wayne Zander — will release his self-titled new album on October 17 through Confidential Records. Ahead of the record, he’s unveiled the bittersweet yet uplifting single “She Can’t Turn Back Now”, accompanied by a video directed by Jon Gillies. The song follows earlier singles “All She Wrote” and “Nobody’s Home”.

Rolling Stone has described Robin Taylor Zander as “CHEAP TRICK’s secret weapon.” A versatile multi-instrumentalist, he is now a full-time member of the band, equally adept on guitar, bass, drums, and backing vocals. His solo work blends rich, layered harmonies with a retro-meets-modern pop rock sound — drawing from the spirit of the ’60s British Invasion, ’70s punk, ’80s new wave, and ’90s alternative — yet shaped into a style that’s distinctly his own.

Co-produced with rock icon Jack Douglas (AEROSMITH, John Lennon, CHEAP TRICK) and mixed by Douglas alongside acclaimed engineer Jay Messina (KISS, Peter Frampton), Robin Taylor Zander’s new album offers a raw, unfiltered, and deeply personal solo statement filled with poetic emotion.

For Robin, a career in music was destined — it runs through his heart, soul, and very DNA. The son of CHEAP TRICK’s legendary frontman, he is set to release his new single “Nobody’s Home”, following the success of his 2023 debut solo album The Distance.

His music brims with lush instrumentation, soaring harmonies, and irresistible pop melodies. Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, The Move, The Who, and more, Robin crafts a sound that is uniquely his own. Writing every song and performing guitar, bass, drums, and vocals himself, his debut revealed not only his wide-ranging influences but also his remarkable talent, versatility, and musical vision.

Confidential Records NYC is the record label of legendary producer Jack Douglas.
