Prog keyboard legend Rick Wakeman is celebrating his 77th birthday today — and what better occasion to unveil his latest tour, “The Wizard Of Prog – Ultimate Highlights Concert Tour”, which will see him hit the road with his English Rock Ensemble across February and March 2027, marking the band’s most extensive UK tour to date.
“All tours are special, but this one is really very special,” Wakeman promises. “I can’t exactly tell you why, but trust me… it is!”
Unlike previous tours that often focused on performing a complete album, this new run will showcase a wide-ranging selection from Wakeman’s celebrated catalogue, featuring fan-favourite live material from across his career. Audiences can look forward to highlights from iconic concept works such as “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” and “The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table”, alongside other classic solo compositions, music from his time with Yes, and, naturally, a few surprises along the way.
The English Rock Ensemble lineup will remain unchanged from 2025’s “Return Of The Caped Crusader Part 2” tour, with Jesse Smith on lead vocals, Adam Wakeman handling keyboards, guitars and backing vocals, alongside Dave Colquhoun on guitars and backing vocals, Lee Pomeroy on bass and backing vocals, and Adam Falkner behind the kit. Completing the lineup are backing vocalists Sara Davey, Jo Goldsmith-Eteson and Jo Marshall.
In addition to the upcoming tour, Rick Wakeman is also set to release his new autobiography, “The Wizard of Prog”, later this year.
