Release Athens Festival 2027 won’t take place at Plateia Nerou, but at a new site. As we can understand from the announcement of the first band of next year’s Release Athens Festival (The Neighbourhood), it will be held at Markopoulo Complex! Let’s read what the announcement says:
“Markopoulo Complex, located at the Olympic Properties site in Markopoulo, Attica, is a venue capable of hosting large-scale concerts, festivals and events. Its extensive size allows for flexibility in different configurations, depending on the needs of even the most demanding production.
As part of Release Athens, the Markopoulo Complex will feature two stages, with the second one housed inside a 4,000-square-meter tent, allowing even more artists to perform each festival day. At the same time, the covered stage will give visitors the opportunity to arrive early and enjoy the first acts with protection from the sun and a cooler environment.
The venue also features extensive parking facilities, with capacity for several thousand vehicles, while access via Attiki Odos and the nearby Koropi Metro station, from and to which shuttle buses will operate, will make it easier to reach the venue from different parts of Athens”.
