Original KISS Drummer Peter Criss announces first solo album in years, out this December.
Rock icon and founding KISS drummer Peter Criss is returning to the spotlight with a brand-new solo record, aptly titled “Peter Criss”, due out on December 19.
Co-produced by Criss alongside Barry Pointer—known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, and Dolly Parton—the album brings together an impressive lineup of guest musicians:
Billy Sheehan and Matthew Montgomery (Piggy D.) on bass
John 5 and Mike McLaughlin on guitar
Paul Shaffer on piano
Backing vocals from Dennis and Sharon Collins, and Cat Manning of CAT 5
The Bandcamp page describes the album as “the Catman’s return to form, and his most rock driven solo album ever, and it includes appearances by John 5, Billy Sheehan, and Paul Shaffer.”
Every CD and digital edition of “Peter Criss” includes the bonus track “Hard Rock Knockers,” while the vinyl release comes with a download card for the song. The album features 11 tracks in total, all showcasing Sheehan and Shaffer, with John 5 appearing on a few select numbers.
