NIGHTKILL – “SURVIVE THE NIGHT” (2025, ALONE)

by MythofRock

NightKill have been very active on the live front recently, and now the time has come for them to present their debut album, titled “Survive The Night”. Anyone who has seen them live knows what to expect. For everyone else, get ready for good, classic ’80s heavy metal in the vein of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, Accept, Queensrÿche, Helloween, and the like. “Survive The Night” is a dynamic, vigorous album of old-school heavy metal, built on sharp, powerful riffs and magnificent, infectious melodies. Picture strong guitars (both lead and rhythm parts), soaring high vocals (Theodor Martinis really delivers), a rock-solid rhythm section, and a clear production with a strong live feeling, and you’ll get a good idea of what NightKill’s debut is all about. All eight tracks on the record are flawless and exciting, making it hard not to single out the crushing “Survive The Night” and “Queen of the Damned” as well as the power ballad “Don’t Give Up”. From the very first listen it is obvious that the songs are well-crafted and that the band entered the studio fully prepared and confident! The result is an excellent collection of songs that every fan of classic metal will love. NightKill are by no means reinventing the wheel, but with elements from the past they create something sweet to the ear. One thing is certain: if you give NightKill a chance, you’ll have a great time. With such a debut album in their arsenal, Theodor Martinis and his bandmates will not only survive the competition, but may even rise to the very top!
