MISERY INDEX: NEW SINGLE OUT AFTER FOUR YEARS!

by MythofRock

Baltimore death metal veterans MISERY INDEX have unveiled their new single “Feral Future”, alongside an official lyric video. The track marks the band’s first new material in four years, following their return to Season Of Mist and arriving just ahead of their “An Epitaph for Endtimes” European summer 2026 headline tour.

“Feral Future” showcases MISERY INDEX’s trademark fusion of crushing death metal and grindcore, powered by the head-spinning riffs of guitarists Mark Kloeppel and Darin Morris, combined with Adam Jarvis’s devastatingly precise drumming. The song continues the band’s tradition of sharp social commentary, presenting the natural world as something to be restored and protected rather than controlled. It builds toward a powerful conclusion with the defiant closing line, “this is our future”.

MISERY INDEX vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton states: “‘Feral Future’ is about changing the way we think about our relationship with nature. Nature isn’t something we rule over or exist outside of. It’s something we are immersed in everywhere all the time. This song champions the rewilding of damaged and corrupted human spaces and reclaims a more feral connection that respects the sublime wonder of nature.”

“Feral Future” was among the first tracks written for MISERY INDEX’s upcoming eighth studio album, with its raw intensity and uncompromising energy playing a key role in defining the record’s overall thematic direction.

“Feral Future” was mixed by Ricardo Borges and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The artwork was created by Samuele Puligheddu, with photography provided by Ryan Phillips, while the track’s lyric video was produced by Cloud Motion Design.
