Kingcrown, the French heavy/power metallers, successfully reach the fifth album of their career. “Moonfall”, as it is named, comes to shake us up for good! Because the euro heavy/power metal you will hear here is the product of unique inspiration, excellent know-how, brilliant songwriting, and beautiful team spirit. Kingcrown are primarily influenced by great bands such as Helloween, Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Masterplan, Freedom Call, etc., and worthily continue the power metal tradition without copying or stealing, but creating a personal sound of their own. Thus, they deliver wonderful songs based on power and especially on melody, songs that force you to sing along and surrender to their strange charm! Yes, tracks like “Moonfall”, “Nothing”, “Lost Horizon” and “Beyond the Stars” have catchy refrains, wonderful guitar work, keyboards that add volume, vocals that strongly reminiscent of Andi Deris, continuous choral parts that move you, and a full, powerful and solid rhythm section. Tremendous work has been done by the well-known Simone Mularoni, who did the mixing and mastering; by giving every instrument the proper intensity, he has supported the good elements of each composition. In this way, an artistic, lyrical, and pompous album reaches the hands of the listener, definitely one of the best euro power metal proposals of recent years! The Amore brothers must be very happy and proud of Kingcrown’s new album. I firmly believe that this is the album that will make Kingcrown’s name known to a large part of the world! The band from France deserves it and then some!
