Firewind sent a message to their fans about the band’s activities during the following months. With a video message, Gus G. stated: “Firewind is returning next year, and we are working on music. We’re working on new songs. There will be a new album in 2023. We’re writing songs right now. We’re in pre-production mode and songwriting mode. And the new material is killer; it’s coming together really nice. And we start the year off with a massive European and U.K. tour. We’re playing 42 shows all over Europe and U.K. We’re gonna be special guests of Beast In Black. They’re an amazing band. They’re blowing up right now. And they’re taking us out on tour with them… It’s gonna be an amazing show… So, yeah, we start the year off with a massive tour. New music is gonna follow. And we’re gonna get to the rest of the parts of the world within the year”.
In other Gus G. news, it has been announced that Gus G. will join Paul Di’ Anno in two concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece, where the former Iron Maiden vocalist will perform early Iron Maiden classics (from the first two Iron Maiden albums). The shows will take place on December 14, 2022, at Gagarin205 in Athens and December 16, 2022, at the Principal Club Theater in Thessaloniki. Gus G. said: “Excited to see Paul after many years and honored to play some legendary Iron Maiden by his side. For two nights only! Where else?”. Paul Di’ Anno underwent a knee surgery on September 12, 22, and according to Stjepan Juras, a Maiden fan and author of many Maiden-related books, who is taking care of Paul during his stay in Croatia, “His rehabilitation is going fantastic”.
