DEMON HUNTER is set to release their twelfth studio album, “There Was A Light Here”, on September 12, 2025. Following in the footsteps of their 2022 album “Exile”, the new record will be issued through the band’s own label, Weapons MFG. Fans can now preorder the album on CD, cassette, and a variety of limited edition vinyl formats.
In recent weeks, DEMON HUNTER has dropped three singles from the upcoming album, each accompanied by a music video: “I’m Done”, “Light Bends”, and “Sorrow Light The Way”. The latter even broke into YouTube Music’s Top 50 Metal Videos, debuting within the top 20 among current releases.
There Was A Light Here serves as a heartfelt tribute to love and loss, dedicated to frontman Ryan Clark’s late mother. The album delves deep into the concept of light—both its presence and its absence—through 12 emotionally charged tracks.
True to form, DEMON HUNTER delivers their signature mix of crushing heaviness and melodic beauty on the record. Produced by Clark and guitarist Jeremiah Scott, it was mixed and mastered by Chris “Zeuss” Harris (ROB ZOMBIE, HATEBREED, SUFFOCATION), with the exception of the title track, which was handled by Eric Stenman (AWOLNATION, THRICE, DEFTONES).
The band will take There Was A Light Here on the road across the U.S. in September and October 2025, joined by WAR OF AGES, CONVICTIONS, and CULTIST as support acts. Additionally, DEMON HUNTER is set to appear at this year’s Louder Than Life festival in Louisville and Aftershock festival in Sacramento.
