Multi-instrumentalist Cristiano Filippini and Flames of Heaven are back with a brand-new album, five years after “The Force Within”. It’s called “Symphony of the Universe”, and without a doubt, it’s a stunning record. Get ready for a fantastic journey through the beautiful world of melodic power metal. Following in the footsteps of bands like Stratovarius, Helloween, Edguy, Avantasia, Savatage, and Virgin Steele, Filippini has crafted yet another exemplary album where steel meets ethereal melody and heartfelt lyricism. The songs featured on this record aren’t just metal tracks — they’re small metal symphonies, so elegant and captivating that resistance is impossible. On the contrary, we surrender to these complete, fascinating, fresh compositions — sometimes simple, sometimes intricate, but always catchy and inspired. Where shall we begin from? The incredible guitar work, the dazzling keyboards, the soaring vocals? Everything shines! Filippini and the outstanding musicians he’s chosen pour their hearts and soul into this album, delivering something truly masterful. The production is phenomenal, and the entire package — music, lyrics, sound, artwork — is designed to impress. We’re talking about an exceptionally well-crafted album that exceeds all expectations and raises the bar sky-high. I was expecting something good based on the stunning cover art, but certainly not this good! Cristiano Filippini’s Flames of Heaven and their new opus are every power metal fan’s dream come true — filled with energy, positivity, uplifting emotion, and majestic atmosphere. This is power metal done with passion and respect for the listener, offering the very best the genre has to give. It would be no surprise if Flames of Heaven become a big name in the scene. Either way, they’ve just released one of the finest power metal albums in recent memory — and they should be incredibly proud of it. As for us, we should just be grateful!
