AVENGED SEVENFOLD have surprised fans with the unexpected release of a brand-new four-track EP titled “Statica”.
The release features the songs “Lights,” “Statica,” “Rejoice,” and “Ashes,” following the band’s acclaimed 2023 album “Life Is But A Dream…” and their standalone single “Magic,” which arrived in December as part of the biggest seasonal content update in “Call Of Duty” history, Black Ops 7 Season 1.
Clocking in at 18 minutes and 7 seconds, “Statica” sees AVENGED SEVENFOLD exploring bold new musical territory, incorporating robotic vocals, futuristic sci-fi-inspired synthesizers, and electronic dance elements into their evolving sound.
The band has yet to release an official statement regarding the EP, which was once again issued independently, continuing their recent approach of creative freedom and full control over their artistic direction.
“Life Is But A Dream…” was created over a four-year period, with AVENGED SEVENFOLD writing and recording the album in Los Angeles alongside producer Joe Barresi. The record was later mixed by legendary engineer Andy Wallace in the Poconos, Pennsylvania. Serving as a deeply introspective work, the album explores themes of existential uncertainty, offering a personal reflection on the meaning, purpose, and value of human existence while confronting the ever-present reality of mortality.
This summer, AVENGED SEVENFOLD will hit the road across North America for a special tour alongside GOOD CHARLOTTE. Presented by Live Nation, the 16-date trek will begin on July 25 in Ridgedale, Missouri, and will include stops in cities such as Shakopee, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, New York, Boston, Charlotte, and Dallas, before concluding on August 27 at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Arizona.
