The debut studio album from ARISE FROM WORMS, the project led by guitarist Sonny Lombardozzi, titled “A Bleeding Tree Hanging Self Destruction”, is set for release on July 10 through Church Road Records.
ARISE FROM WORMS is far more than a conventional musical project; it serves as Sonny Lombardozzi’s platform for pushing extreme music into uncharted territory. Rejecting traditional genre boundaries, the project invites listeners to set aside expectations and embrace the music with an open mind. To help realize this ambitious vision, Lombardozzi has enlisted an impressive lineup of veteran musicians, including Steve Tucker on vocals, Flo Mounier on drums, and Derek Sherinian on keyboards.
The foundations of the project were laid while Sonny was touring with Morbid Angel. After sharing the concept behind the band with Steve Tucker, Tucker immediately showed strong interest and eagerly signed on to participate. Inspired by the enthusiasm surrounding the idea, Sonny quickly got to work, handwriting the first drafts and concepts that would eventually evolve into the earliest ARISE FROM WORMS material during the tour.
After returning from the tour, the project’s lineup was firmly established with the addition of Flo Mounier and Derek Sherinian. Offering an early glimpse of their musical direction, the band released its self-titled EP in 2022, which quickly sold out its initial vinyl pressing. The release also included the track “Axes Of The Void II”, featuring guest vocals from Dallas Toler-Wade.
With the groundwork firmly in place, ARISE FROM WORMS is now poised to unveil its most ambitious and definitive work to date, “A Bleeding Tree Hanging Self Destruction”.
