A few days ago, we visited the historic venue An Club in Exarcheia, Athens, where we were about to enjoy Desert Near the End and Wolfheart performing live. It was my first time seeing these bands perform, and I eagerly anticipated the entire event, much like many others who attended An Club that evening.

Approximately 45 minutes after the doors had opened, the lights dimmed and Desert Near the End took the stage. The Greek speed/power metallers kicked off their set beautifully, but encountered some issues with one of the guitars, leading to a brief pause. However, they returned with renewed energy, delivering their dynamic and thrashy material with confidence. Their performance exuded passion and emotion as they played their intricate songs. Obviously, the crowd was warmed up with Desert Near the End’s performance. Their music served as the perfect precursor to what was to come. … Wolfheart, the Finnish death metal band featuring Greek guitarist Vagelis Karzis, took the stage by storm at An Club, delivering a powerhouse performance of their best songs. Their sound was colossal, their technical prowess impressive, their passion palpable, and their strength unmatched! Wolfheart’s stage presence was commanding, their interaction with the audience ideal and they sounded like a force to be reckoned with. Their performance was a perfect blend of elegance and brutality, leaving a lasting impact on the listener. Although I was unfamiliar with many of their songs, I thoroughly enjoyed their entire set, and I’m certain that all attendees were super-excited with Wolfheart’s performance at An Club! The excellent sound production ensured that every member of the band shone brilliantly, especially Vagelis Karzis, whose guitar skills were incredible. Overall, Wolfheart’s performance was a phenomenal display of heart and skill, leaving us in awe.
Having witnessed Wolfheart delivering an magnificent performance, we made our way home. This melodic death metal night has been etched into our psyche – I cannot forget this amazing show!
