WIND ROSE – “TROLLSLAYER” (2024, NAPALM)

by MythofRock

Wind Rose are back with “Trollslayer” and they bring us a good dose of their … dwarven metal! The Italian quintet continues to blend the power metal sound  with folk metal elements, they still mix the clean voices with group vocals and harsh, brutal vocals, and for another time, they are inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. They don’t invent something new, yet they give everything for the best result and have real fun playing these power/folk metal tunes. You can listen to this fun in these new songs, you can feel their hot breath and heavy smell, as they sing and play their jolly, lively compositions. Their material is full of catchy melodies and lively rhythms, which will make you … twist and shout, headbang, again and again! All nine songs are based on fresh and nice ideas, the arrangements are simple but smart, the performances are vibrant and stirring! Wind Rose take you on journey to the world of dwarves and trolls and the whole experience is immersive! I can’t get these songs out of my head – listen for example to “The Great Feast Underground”, “Rock and Stone”, “Home of the Twilight” and “Trollslayer”  and you will be blown away – indeed!  The band from Pisa, Tuscany, has just released a super-satisfactory new album, with a lot of meat into it! Go get it and join the Great Feast! We are all welcome there, hell yeah!
