Taylor Hawkins, drummer of Foo Fighters, has died … He was only 50 years old. Foo Fighters have confirmed his passing in a statement (Friday, March 25, 2022): “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time”. The band was on tour in South America at the time of Hawkins’s death and were preparing to perform in Bogota, Colombia on Friday, a show which has been canceled.
Hawkins, whose cause of death has not been revealed, had been a member of Foo Fighters since 1997. Before joining Foo Fighters, he had played with the band Sylvia, with Sass Jordan, and was the touring drummer of Alanis Morissette.
Taylor Hawkins, rest in peace.
