Congratulations on your debut album, “Out Of Line”! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the album title? How do you feel now that your album will be released? What feedback have you received from critics about “Out Of Line” so far?
The inspiration behind the album title “Out Of Line” came from our desire to express freedom and independence in our music. “Out Of Line” means stepping out of the ordinary and creating something unique. We feel excited and full of anticipation for the album’s release. So far, critics have given positive feedback, highlighting the energy and emotional depth of the tracks.
Are you going to self-release this album or will it be released via a certain label, for example Bob Katsionis’ Symmetric Records? Why?
We decided to release it independently because, at this stage, it seems to be the best option for us. However, if a good offer comes along that benefits us, we will definitely consider it.
How would you describe “Out of Line” musically?
“Out of Line” is a mix of AOR, hard rock, and metal elements, with a strong ’80s vibe. We blend melodic choruses with powerful guitar parts and emotionally charged lyrics.
The album has a strong 80s vibe. What drew you to that era’s sound, and how did you incorporate it into your music?
The 80s was a time of intense creativity and experimentation in music, which inspired us. We incorporated these elements into our sound by using characteristic guitar riffs and melodic vocal lines reminiscent of that era.
In my opinion, you blend AOR, even pop elements into your hard rock/metal foundation. How easy or difficult was that?
Combining these elements was a natural process for us. Our influences from various music genres helped us create a multifaceted sound that is both accessible and powerful.
Bob Katsionis played a significant role in producing this album. How did his expertise influence the final sound?
Bob Katsionis brought his technical expertise and creative vision to the album’s production. His contribution was crucial in shaping the sound of “Out of Line”, adding depth and clarity to the recordings.
What was the most challenging part of the recording process for “Out Of Line”?
The most challenging part of the recording process was balancing the various musical elements and maintaining the energy and authenticity in each track. Attention to detail and constant effort for the best result were demanding but worth it.
The guitar work on the album is exceptional. What was your approach to creating such memorable guitar parts and solos?
Our approach to creating memorable guitar parts and solos was based on an instinctive sense of melody and rhythm. We aimed to create guitar parts that not only impress but also add emotional depth to the songs
The vocals on the album are particularly strong. Which are your singer’s vocal influences?
Our singer’s vocal influences include great artists such as Vince Neil, David Coverdale and James Hetfield. These singers have shaped his approach to vocal performance with their intensity and expressiveness.
The themes of love and human relationships are central to your lyrics. What personal experiences influenced these themes?
Our lyrics draw inspiration from personal experiences as well as our observations of relationships and emotions we experience daily. Our lyrics reflect the human experience, full of love, loss, and hope.
How do you balance maintaining a unique sound while staying true to the melodic hard rock/metal genre?
This balance is achieved through creative collaboration and respect for our musical roots. While we strive to explore new ideas and keep our sound fresh, we remain true to the core principles of melodic hard rock and metal.
Which track on the album is your personal favorite and why?
Our personal favorite track is “Under Your Spell”, because it captures the essence of the emotions we want to convey. The melody, lyrics, and performance combine to create a powerful emotional imprint.
Can you describe the band’s songwriting process? Do you write together or separately?
The songwriting process usually starts with Dim Argio, who writes the basic ideas and lyrics. Then, the other members contribute their ideas, and the final result is a combined effort of everyone.
How do you feel your music fits into the current rock/metal scene?
We believe our music adds a unique touch to the modern rock and metal scene by offering a blend of classic and contemporary elements that resonate with the audience.
Are there any specific bands or artists that influenced the sound of “Out Of Line”?
Yes, bands like Scorpions, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, and Skid Row have significantly influenced our sound. The power and melody they bring to their music are something we strive to incorporate into our songs.
What do you hope listeners take away from your new album?
We hope listeners feel the energy and emotion we put into creating this album. We want to offer them an experience that will transport them and make them feel the power of our music. We also hope they connect with the lyrics and themes of our songs, which explore love, human relationships, and personal growth. We want listeners to find comfort, inspiration, and strength through our songs and feel like they are part of our musical journey.
How do you plan to promote “Out Of Line”? Any upcoming gigs or special events?
We plan to promote “Out Of Line” with a series of actions. First of all, we will organize a release party for the album’s release, where we can meet the fans in person. We also want to participate in various festivals and concerts, both in Greece and abroad. Additionally, we will leverage the power of social networks and streaming platforms to promote our album worldwide.
What’s next for Senses? Are you already working on new material?
The next step for Senses is to continue our creative journey. We are already working on new material and are excited about the new ideas and directions we are exploring. Additionally, we plan to perform live to promote “Out Of Line” and connect with our audience.
