JIM STEINMAN: DEAD AT 73

Jim Steinman, the famous American composer, lyricist and record producer, died on April 19th, 2021. Steiman was 73 years old. He worked with several rock, pop, dance etc. artists like Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, The Sisters of Mercy and others. His most successful chart singles include Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, Air Supply’s “Making Love Out of Nothing at All”, Meat Loaf’s “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)”, the Sisters of Mercy’s “This Corrosion” and “More”, Barry Manilow’s “Read ‘Em and Weep”, Celine Dion’s cover of “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” (originally released by Steinman’s project Pandora’s Box) etc. He released his only solo album Bad for Good in 1981.

Steinman had a stroke in 2004 and temporarily lost the ability to speak. He died from kidney failure at a hospital in Danbury, Connecticut.
