Interview with LUSTY HELL

by MythofRock

What the hell is … Lusty Hell? A furious Greek band, which plays high-energy, kick-ass punk n’ roll with black metal elements! And their release, “What The Hell Is Here?” is a god-damn dirty and loud thunder, which falls like an anvil on our heads! Myth of Rock delves into the world of Lusty Hell, as Jim Angel Thorn answers our questions. Let’s go together!

by Ira Bunia

Good afternoon, Jim, good afternoon, Lefteris. How are you doing?

Good afternoon Ira, we are fine, despite all the difficulties of today’s times.

Before we start the discussion about music, we would like you to introduce us to the current line-up of the band.

Our current line-up, with which our first album was recorded, consists of me (Jim Angel Thorn) on bass and Lefteris (Terry Anatomos) on vocals, guitars and drums.

Tell us a little bit about the founding of the band and who inspired its name?

The band has been an idea since 2014 but for personal reasons it was put on ice and started more actively in 2020. The name was inspired by Terry in his search for a lustful hell.

Listening to your music, one discovers that it is a mixture of punk, hard rock and heavy metal such as the Sex Pistols and Motörhead.  Tell us about your influences.

There are influences from both punk and metal. But we characterize our sound as punk rock, rock n’ roll with a black metal aesthetic. Our direct influences are Ramones, Motörhead and Turbonegro with a black metal aesthetic, as we said before.

Is there a consensus among the band members? Do you have a common vision?

Generally, there are some musical differences, but as good friends we manage to collaborate and there is a common musical vision, a goal.

As far as the composition of the tracks is concerned, do all members have an active participation?

The basic composition of the songs and lyrics has been undertaken by Terry, but I also participate in an advisory session with my own ideas.

Tell us a little bit about the band’s lyrics?

Our songs and themes stem from various things that pique our interest, always given by our own thought filter.

Watching your music videos, one can understand your dynamism and the explosiveness of your messages that are multithematic. Tell us a little bit about it.

Yes, you are right in your observation, we present various topics always given with dynamism, causticity and humor.

Tell us  about your album “What the Hell is Here”? How many tracks does it contain and what is everyone’s favorite?

“What the hell is here?” contains ten tracks. As far as our favorite is concerned, it is a difficult question, because each song of the album has its own mark. But we like a little more as a composition the one titled “Male Supremacy”.

Have you got any new material?

Yes, we are rehearsing some new material.

Are you thinking of doing a live show in the future and presenting us your work?

Yes,a live presentation is in our plans, to collaborate with some session musicians.

Do you have in mind to do a cover?

We already have a cover on our album (“Emergency” by Girlschool and Motörhead), maybe there will be another cover in the future.

Thank you very much for your time and we wish you all the best for your band!

We thank Ira for the interview and for the interest of Myth of rock in our band. Stay rock and play loud!!!
