Galahad is one of the brightest stars of the contemporary British progressive rock scene. Every prog rock fan, who respects himself, must check their nine albums so far. And of course, their tenth album, “Seas of Change”, comes as a fantastic addition to the band’s discography. “Seas of Change” contains only one 42-minute song, an epic prog-rock opus that will satisfy even the strictest fans of the genre. Some may think that such a big song will be boring and tiring. Well, when you listen to the band’s new album, you will forget everything and get thrilled by the beauty of this lengthy music piece. It is like a rollercoaster, a song full of highs and lows, ups and downs, curves and edges. Each chapter of “Seas of Change” is impressive and has different things to give. Galahad are in great shape, they are so inspired and their effort will leave you speechless. That’s real progressive music, that’s how prog rock should sound! While listening to the band’s new album, you will feel like making a long, adventurous journey – you wish that this voyage will never stop. As far as the influences of Galahad are concerned, they follow the usual prog rock style, since they adopt the characteristics of bands like Genesis, Yes, and Marillion. Yet they mix different elements from various progressive rock bands of the 70s, for example from electronic rock and ambient. Thus, the final result is so strange and charming, so unique. This record sends shivers down my spine! The “Seas of Change” are here for you to explore!
