Greece’s groove/nu metal heavyweights Bent By Sorrow return just over a year after “Sakura” with “Shitshow”, a defiant anthem about surviving the grind — single and official music video out worldwide 31 July 2026. It is the first single from their forthcoming album “Undisputed Love”.
It is the band’s first new music since “Sakura”, their fourth album, released in May 2025 through the American label Brutal Records — and it leaves no doubt about where the next chapter is heading. Where Sakura leaned into the emotional weight Bent by Sorrow have become known for, “ShitShow” is pure forward motion: lean, percussive and riff-first, built on the two forces that keep this band running — the ceaseless struggle and toil for survival, and an undeniable love and passion for what they do.
“ShitShow” was recorded at Devasoundz Studios in Athens and produced by Fotis Benardo and Bent by Sorrow — with Benardo also having helmed “Sakura” — and was mixed and mastered by George Nerantzis. The result is the band at their most direct: the groove-metal muscle intact, the nu-metal bounce sharpened, the production wide open and modern.
The single opens the campaign for “Undisputed Love”, a record the band describe as one that will redefine the sound they have cultivated over more than a decade. If manufacturing and pressing schedules hold, the album is targeted to land within a year of “Sakura” — an unusually fast turnaround for a band this deep into a catalogue, and a deliberate statement of momentum.
Formed in Athens in late 2012, Bent by Sorrow have released four albums and built a following among listeners of Killswitch Engage, Soilwork, Gojira and Deftones. They have shared stages at home and abroad with Harakiri for the Sky, Crowbar and Nile, and have headlined major Greek venues. “ShitShow” is the sound of that decade-plus of work refusing to slow down.
Bent by Sorrow is a groove metal / nu metal band from Athens, Greece, active since late 2012 and writing for fans of Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Deftones and Gojira. The band is built around Giannakis Dimi (guitars, composition) and Pantelis Saroglou (vocals, lyrics).
Four albums in, the band signed to the American label Brutal Records and released Sakura in May 2025 — a record that pushed their streaming audience up by a reported 8,600% and drew press across Europe and North America.
