Albert Bouchard is widely recognized as a founding member of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, whose classic lineup sold millions of albums through Columbia Records and delivered timeless hits such as “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and the Billboard Mainstream Rock No. 1 single “Burnin’ For You”. In addition to his drumming, Bouchard made significant songwriting contributions and sang lead vocals on several fan favorites, including “Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll”.
For decades, Bouchard has remained the driving force behind the evolution of the “Imaginos” saga, bringing Sandy Pearlman’s ambitious vision to life through multiple incarnations. The critically praised “Imaginos” trilogy assembled songs written across several decades into a cohesive narrative centered on the mysterious, ever-shifting character known as Imaginos.
The saga now enters a new chapter with “Imaginos IV: Rhyme Of The Starclock”, an album inspired by a collection of previously unseen writings left behind by Pearlman.
Bouchard explains: “After ‘Mutant Reformation’, I thought I was done with ‘Imaginos’. Those who bought the previous three ‘Imaginos’ records might have thought the same thing. Then a cache of Sandy Pearlman’s writings was discovered when they sold his house. Out of the thousand or so pages there were at least 28 song lyrics that were never recorded. Most of those related directly to the ‘Imaginos’ saga. Over the past 12 months. I have recorded more than 20 of those songs. This new record contains 11 of them, only one of which was known to me before. I am very excited to bring brand-new material to this epic story.”
“Imaginos IV: Rhyme Of The Starclock” is scheduled for release on September 25 via Deko Entertainment. Its first single, “Four Winds Bar”, draws inspiration from a lyric in the BLUE ÖYSTER CULT classic “Astronomy”. Co-written by Joe Bouchard and Sandy Pearlman, the track also features BLUE COUPE.
The album is available for pre-order now and boasts an impressive roster of guest musicians, including Ross “The Boss” Friedman, Joe Cerisano, Keith Roth, RJ Ronquillo, Sandy Hall, Lenny Kaye, and Jack Rigg.
