Aerosmith had to postpone some shows of their farewell Peace Out tour, due to Steven Tyler’s vocal cord damage, during a recent performance.
The legendary hard rock band announced that Tyler sustained damage to his vocal cords during this past Saturday’s (September 9) concert at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, and as a result, he has been ordered not to sing for at least 30 days. Tyler said in a statement: “I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve”.
Shows in Chicago, Detroit, Washington, Toronto, Raleigh and Cleveland have been affected by Tyler’s vocal issues.
