According to a press statement, the four-track effort stands among the band’s most varied and emotionally powerful releases. “The Cloud Of Unknowing” is described as a bittersweet farewell, capturing the full range of the band’s artistic vision while reflecting both the intensity and the depth that have shaped Sepultura’s enduring legacy.

“Beyond The Dream” stands out as one of the most defining moments of Sepultura’s final era, offering a poetic reflection on a journey forged through decades of albums, relentless touring, and life on the road.

This previously unreleased track realizes a long-held ambition of the band to explore a ballad-driven approach, merging Sepultura’s unmistakable identity with a more melodic and expressive sensibility. To achieve this, the band turned to Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of Titãs — longtime associates and highly respected figures in the genre, known for crafting iconic songs like “Polícia”.

The track is the outcome of a close collaboration between members of Sepultura and Titãs, celebrating the bond between artists united by the stage and a shared passion for creating music.

The end result is a composition that left everyone involved deeply fulfilled, standing as both an emotional highlight and a historic moment on the band’s final EP—released in the very year that marks Sepultura’s official farewell.

When the EP’s first single, “The Place”, was released in late February, SEPULTURA vocalist Derrick Green commented: “This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life. Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda, they began to act out against what they hate about themselves. The transition begins to escape from the self-hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas. I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger”.
