The 69 Eyes return to the spotlight with the release of the “I Survive” EP, which features three brand-new tracks alongside a cover of Thin Lizzy’s classic “Cold Sweat”. Overall, this is a very strong release that once again highlights the quality of the Finnish glam/gothic rockers, even here in 2026. The EP opens with the title track, “I Survive”, a song firmly rooted in the band’s familiar and classic goth ’n’ roll style. It proves that The 69 Eyes are still bursting with creative energy, with their songwriting imagination very much alive. The track also features guest guitar work from Steve Stevens, best known as Billy Idol’s longtime guitarist, making it essential listening for gothic rock fans. Next comes their take on “Cold Sweat”, where The 69 Eyes give everything they’ve got. They remain faithful to the melodic hard rock spirit of Phil Lynott and company, while naturally filtering the track through their own darker sonic identity. Then comes “In The Misery”, my personal favorite of the three new songs on the EP, thanks to its irresistibly catchy melodic lines and rich guitar work. As for the fourth and final track, “Devil’s Rose”, it stays within the framework of The 69 Eyes’ signature sound, though it didn’t impress me quite as much. That said, the appearance of Ed Mundell — formerly of Monster Magnet — adds another notable touch and makes the EP even more interesting. In the end, the “I Survive” EP proves that The 69 Eyes are doing far more than simply surviving — they are still confidently and wisely showing exactly what they are capable of.

Elvenking announce their new release, the “Rites of Disclosure” EP.

A new chapter closes – and a new path begins. With “Rites Of Disclosure”, ELVENKING unveil the ceremonial epilogue to their celebrated Reader of the Runes era. Conceived as a companion and closing act to the trilogy, the release is not a traditional full-length album, but a special collection that bridges past and present while pointing toward the band’s future. “Rites Of Disclosure” will be released on May 22nd, 2026 via Reaper Entertainment.

The first single taken from the EP is the new, previously unreleased song “The Past Is Forever”, which will be released on March 6th, 2025. A pre-save link will be available soon.

Thematically, the release remains deeply connected to the Reader of the Runes universe, providing narrative bridges within the saga while delivering its final musical closure after nearly a decade.

The selected covers pay tribute to legendary influences such as Iron Maiden, King Diamond, Venom, Skcylad, Bathory and Children of Bodom – reinterpreted with ELVENKING’s unmistakable identity.

Rather than a conventional album, “Rites Of Disclosure” stands as a reflective farewell to an era – a final gathering of musical fragments, influences and storytelling threads before the band moves forward with renewed creative focus.

Tulipomania strikes back with a release named “Absolution” – it is a remix of their “Dreaming Of Sleep” album, plus four new songs, inspired by the Jeff VanderMeer’s new best-seller by the same name. I see this album as a celebration of Tulipomania, as a gift to the fans of the band. The masterpiece, which is called “Dreaming of Sleep”, has been remixed – the new versions are for the listening pleasure of the ones, who know Tulipomania and trust their art. The new songs are “Strange”, “Something Else”, “Never Knew” and “I’ve Been Told-Absolution

”, and they continue in the style of “Dreaming of Sleep”, that means we find here haunting indie, synth pop/rock with many dark wave and art rock elements. Tulipomania keeps on writing atmospheric, melancholic, shadowy and tantalizing songs and offering us a life-changing experience. You don’t just listen to these songs, you immerse yourself in them, you enter a world of emotions – if you let Tulipomania take the control, it’s sure that you will drown in your thoughts and dreams! This listening session is an inner process, yet its impact can be felt, and heard, and seen. My favorite from the new songs is “Never Knew”, which is more straightforward and catchy, yet, all four of them have a dark music wealth, which will take your breath away. It is tough to understand the strange character of Tulipomania, and the reward of listening thoroughly to these tracks will be great. Tom Murray (lead vocals, synthesizer, electronic percussion) and Cheryl Gelover (synthesizer, background vocals) haven’t stopped calling us, won’t we heed their call?
